Say yes in Vejle. At the Old Town Hall by the fjord.

In Vejle the municipality marries couples at the Old Town Hall, and on request also at a place with a personal meaning to you within the municipality. The town lies at the head of Vejle Fjord. I photograph your ceremony, the congratulations and then your couple shoot at the harbour or in the woods of Munkebjerg.

What you need to know about Vejle

You apply to Familieretshuset, the Danish Agency of Family Law. The wedding office arranges the exact time with you once your certificate of marital status (prøvelsesattest) has arrived. If your preferred date is more than four months away, call the wedding office.

Venue

Det Gamle Rådhus in Vejle. A ceremony at another place you have a connection to is possible after review; it must be within Vejle Municipality, and the ceremony must take place by 1pm at the latest.

Ceremony days

Mondays from 10am to 2pm, Fridays from 10am to 1pm, and most Saturdays from 10am to 11:30am. No ceremonies on Sundays, public holidays or the municipality's other closing days.

Witnesses

As a rule, you bring two of your own. If that isn't possible, the wedding office will help.

Costs

You pay for your application to Familieretshuset, DKK 2,100. For ceremonies outside the town hall, the municipality also charges for the registrar: as of 2024, DKK 600 per hour or part of an hour, plus travel.

As of October 2026, without guarantee. Please check the pages of Vejle Municipality (in Danish) and Familieretshuset.
